The public will get a chance to appreciate the diverse range of expression found within printmaking when Frostburg State University presents the Maryland Printmakers at FSU's Stephanie Ann Roper Art Gallery. The exhibition will open on Friday, October 16 at 7 PM and remain on view through Sunday, November 8 and is free and open to the public.

Maryland Printmakers, a member of the American Print Alliance, strives to keep the traditions of printmaking alive. Currently, there are more than 250 members internationally. Up to 40 art works will be on display during the FSU show.

"Printmaking is a very diverse art form, with techniques that have not changed since the Middle Ages, to new techniques that require computers," said Lisa Tayerle, a key organizer of the exhibition. "Our show will give viewers an understanding of just how rich a tradition printmaking is."

The Roper Gallery is open Sunday through Wednesday from 1 to 4 PM. For more information, call the Department of Visual Arts at (301) 687-4797.
